This scholarship was established in honor of the late Dr. Hans Geggie, a role model as a dedicated and giving community leader. Dr. Geggie trusted in people to do the right thing and gave many a helping hand without expectation of repayment or public acknowledgement.
The Dr. Hans Geggie Mediation Workshop Scholarship is awarded annually and is open to anyone (staff, volunteer, or board member) from the Canadian not-for-profit sector who shows interest and promise in the field of conflict resolution and who uses, or will be able to use, mediation skills in the course of his or her duties in the not-for-profit sector.
The scholarship covers the tuition fees related to the MDR 40-Hour Foundational Conflict Management & Mediation workshop. Recipients are responsible for all other costs related to attending the workshop including all travel, food, and lodging costs.
The establishment of this scholarship also acknowledges and supports the important role that the not-for-profit sector plays in building peace and capacity in our communities.
